- This is a wonderful intro to lettering book! I love Jillian and Jordan’s teaching style, as they break things down into simple and logical steps. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning lettering, whether you would like to use it for your planner or for cards, home decor, or whatever else your heart desires!
- Thank you, thank you! There are many videos and instruction guides available all over the Internet but finally you share ideas specific to planner lettering. I have been collecting letter styles, embellishments, faux calligraphy example sheets, etc., etc., etc. for months so many ideas out there! But you have put them all together in one easy to follow reference work that is a treasure!
Terry Fox Latey - All kinds of journaling is very popular but I’ve not done it. I bought this book to find out how to journal and to see if it’s for me! Well to my delight I think I can do this and encorporate my calligraphy into this hobby. The authors explain everything in a detailed and easy way that I finally understand. It doesn’t need to take hours to do as I felt before reading this book. It has a wonderful list of commonly used words written in several different fonts to mix and match if I choose to. This book is full of useful information. Im very excited about discovering this awesome book and just today I ordered my first journal!!
- I have done a few online classes by the authors, and their work is incredible. Their teaching style goes way beyond most in that it actually breaks down the lettering and allows you to see the structure and style, and better yet develop your own style. You aren’t going to get just tracing pages with these ladies. You will LEARN and have a deeper understanding. I can’t wait to get my own copy!
